SouthernBiotechnology Associates, Inc., now known as SouthernBiotech, was founded in 1982, by scientists from Dr. Max Cooper’s Cellular Immunology Laboratory at the University of Alabama in Birmingham (UAB), as a company dedicated to the production, purification, conjugation and commercialization of the world’s highest quality, affinity purified, secondary antibodies for research use. As a result of ongoing internal product development and our acquisition of monoclonal antibody producing cell lines through technology transfer arrangements with leading research universities and institutions, we now provide a broad range of affinity purified, polyclonal and monoclonal antibodies, including, fluorochrome and enzyme conjugates, Low Endotoxin/Azide Free (LE/AF) preparations, F(ab) and F(ab’)2 fragments, as well as, purified immunoglobulins and collagens. In addition to direct and OEM sales, our products are available through a global network, including, Fisher Scientific in the U.S. and other distributors throughout Europe, Asia, Africa, the Middle East, South America and the Pacific Rim. Our customers and technology transfer partners include most of the world’s leading pharmaceutical, biotechnology and academic research laboratories.
