Sulfo-SMCC crosslinker (Sulfosuccinimidyl-4-[N-maleimidomethyl]cyclohexane-1-carboxylate) is a water soluble, heterobifunctional crosslinker. Sulfo-SMCC crosslinking reagent has an 8.3 angstrom non-cleavable spacer arm and its maleimide group reacts with sulfhydryls (thiols), while the Sulfo-NHS ester is reactive toward primary amines. Sulfo-SMCC can be used to pro-duce antibody-protein crosslinked conjugates or efficiently label cell surface proteins.
