Single-Unit-Activity
The Single-Unit Activity Filter (SUA) is a single channel filter amplifier module with a built in amplitude window discriminator. It is designed as plug-in unit for use with the 19′′ rackmountable cabinet also manufactured by Thomas RECORDING. Up to 8 single channel SUA modules can be mounted to one 19 cabinet.
The SUA-Filter includes a low-noise differential amplifier with adjustable amplification, a low-pass and a high-pass filter with adjustable cut-off frequencies and a two-variable-level window discriminator for discriminating extracellular recorded action potentials. Threshold levels can be observed together with the original voltage trace of the discriminator by use of a high-frequency chopping circuit.
