描述：4'-Hydroxy Diclofenac is an active metabolite of the NSAID Aceclofenac , demonstrating antiinflammatory and analgesic properties through inhibition of Cox-2 (cyclooxygenase-2) and subsequent suppression of prostaglandin E2 synthesis. The parent compound Aceclofenac inhibits interleukin-1β-induced prostaglandin E2 production with no inhibitory activity against Cox-1 or Cox-2, but upon hydrolysis and oxidation the generated 4'-Hydroxy Diclofenac demonstrates specific Cox-2 inhibition. Hydrolysis of Aceclofenac generates the species Diclofenac , another active Cox inhibitor, which is then oxidized to generate 4'-Hydroxy Diclofenac.
