Studies suggest that nitric oxide production is amplified in the macrophage cell line RAW264-7 and IFN-γ activated-macrophages. Furthermore, Glycyrrhizin stimulates the tumor cell killing effects of IFN -γ activated-macrophages. In addition the expression of COX-2 (cyclooxygenase-2) and NOS2 (inducible nitric oxide synthase, INOS) are inhibited by Glycyrrhizin.
