    Product DescriptionLS-F54249 is a 96-well enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) for the Quantitative detection of Human CELA1 / Pancreatic Elastase 1 in samples of Cell Culture Supernatants, Cell Lysates, Plasma, Serum and Tissue Homogenates. It is based upon a Sandwich assay principle and can be used to detect levels of CELA1 / Pancreatic Elastase 1 as low as 0.156 nanograms per millilter.
    About CELA1 / Pancreatic Elastase 1
    Elastases form a subfamily of serine proteases that hydrolyze many proteins in addition to elastin. Humans have six elastase genes which encode the structurally similar proteins elastase 1, 2, 2A, 2B, 3A, and 3B. Unlike other elastases, pancreatic elastase 1 is not expressed in the pancreas. To date, elastase 1 expression has only been detected in skin keratinocytes.Q9UNI1  NM_001971 NP_001962.3
