本剂对钙镁含量>120mg/L的硬水较为适用．取水样30－50毫升,加入少许试剂粉末,搅拌后静置，以出现不溶白色晶体沉淀为足量．若水样呈现乳白色,则说明含有钙镁离子,有一定硬度,乳白色越深水质越硬。该试剂的用途：用于检测能量水及钙离子水中的钙镁离子的含量。
