镍铬线加热器是一段绝缘的镍铬线，两端带波纹式铜接头，避免镍铬线焊接的不便。通常将线加热器沿柱状物缠绕，需要仔细地将整段加热器进行热沉，通常使用Stycast环氧树脂来提供热连接，尤其是在镍铬线加热器的两端需要很好的热连接。镍铬线加热器通常从中间对折固定，这样即使在大电流流过时也不会产生强磁场。线加热器有50欧姆和25欧姆两种类型。
