PS/2单克隆抗体与人和小鼠VLA-4α链（又称CD49d和整合素α4）发生反应。VLA-4是一种150kda的糖蛋白，属于整合素家族，由T和B淋巴细胞、单核细胞、嗜酸性粒细胞、嗜碱性粒细胞、肥大细胞、胸腺细胞、NK细胞和树突状细胞等多种细胞表达。整合素α4与整合素β7结合形成整合素α4β7，也称为LPAM-1，整合素β1（CD29）形成整合素α4β1，也称为VLA-4。整合素α4在粘附和T细胞共刺激中起作用。整合素α4配体包括VCAM-1、MAdCAM-1和纤维连接蛋白。PS/2抗体可用于体内外VLA-4中和。
