The Ottawa cell is the basis of the Ottawa Test Measurement System (OTMS) and comprises a square section test cell and loose fitting plunger. Test samples, which include fruit, vegetables and pulses, are extruded through a plate which is located in the base of the cell. Extrusion plates comprise holes, wire, blades or bars, to facilitate the type of sample. Extrusion plates are supplied separately. The ejecting handle allows easy removal of plates. A Catchment Drawer is also available.
