Background: This kit was based on sandwich enzyme-linked immune-sorbent assay technology. Anti- APOC2 antibody was pre-coated onto 96-well plates. And the biotin conjugated anti-APOC2 antibody was used as detection antibodies. The standards, test samples and biotin conjugated detection antibody were added to the wells subsequently, and wash with wash buffer. HRP-Streptavidin was added and unbound conjugates were washed away with wash buffer. TMB substrates were used to visualize HRP enzymatic reaction. TMB was catalyzed by HRP to produce a blue color product that changed into yellow after adding acidic stop solution. The density of yellow is proportional to the APOC2 amount of sample captured in plate. Read the O.D. absorbance at 450nm in a microplate reader, and then the concentration of APOC2 can be calculated.

Description: Apolipoprotein (apo) C-II is a necessary cofactor for the activation of lipoprotein lipase, the enzyme that hydrolyzes triglycerides in plasma and transfers the fatty acids to tissues. ApoC-II gene contains 3338 nucleotides with 3 introns, of 2391, 167, and 298 bases, and 4 exons. The first intron is located within the 5-prime untranslated region of the gene and contains 4 Alu sequences. The second intron interrupts the codon specifying amino acid -11 of the signal peptide.
