Description: Murine IFN-γ is a regulatory protein produced by activated NK cells and CD4+TCRab+, CD8+ TCRab+, and TCRgd+ T cells. The biological activities of IFN-γ include the specific binding to a single class of high affinity receptors. In addition, IFN-γ can upgrade the number of lymphoid cell functions, including the antimicrobial and antitumour responses of macrophages, NK cells and neutrophils. Murine IFN-γ is a 15.6 kDa protein containing 134 amino acid residues.

Biological Activity: Murine IFN-γ is fully biologically active when compared to standards. The as determined by a cytopathic affect inhibition assay with murine L929 cells challenged with EMC virus was < 0.1 ng/ml.
Reconstitution: The lyophilized murine IFN-γ is soluble in water and most aqueous buffers. The lyophilized protein can be reconstituted in water to a concentration of 1 mg/ml. This solution can be stored at -20°C for future use. For most in vitro applications, murine IFN-γ exerts its biological activity in the concentration range of 0.1 to 10.0 ng/ml.
Stability: The lyophilized protein, though stable at room temperature, is best stored desiccated below 0°C. Reconstituted murine IFN-γ should be stored in working aliquots at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
