    Clone DT5D3 recognizes human GITR (glucocorticoid-induced TNF receptor family-regulated gene), a type I transmembrane protein also known as AITR or TNFRSF18. GITR is expressed at low levels on resting T lymphocytes, expression is upregulated upon activation. Interaction of GITR with its ligand (GITRL) has been demonstrated to augment T cell activation, proliferation, and cytokine production. GITR signaling has been shown to regulate TCR-mediated apoptosis. GITR plays an important role in the function of CD4+CD25+ Tregs.
