    The Human Notch Signaling Pathway EpiTect ChIP qPCR Array profiles the histone modification status or “histone code” of 84 genes key to Notch signal transduction. Histone modifications regulate chromatin structure and correlate with the transcriptional activity of associated genes. The Notch pathway includes 4 Notch receptors that are activated by ligands from the Jagged and Delta families. These receptors are cleaved and translocate to the nucleus, where they interact with co-activator and co-repressor complexes to control target genes. Histone modifications epigenetically regulate some Notch target genes, affecting their ability to be induced or repressed by Notch. Core Notch signaling genes may be regulated in a similar manner. Notch signaling mediates cell–cell communication and developmental processes, and interacts with other developmental signaling pathways such as Hedgehog and Wnt. This array includes genes involved in Notch signaling as well as Notch targets. Genes from other signaling pathways that cross-talk with the Notch signaling pathway are also represented. Using chromatin immunoprecipitation and this real-time PCR array, research studies can easily and reliably analyze the histone modification patterns associated with a focused gene panel involved in Notch signaling.
